Newcastle 365: Week 22

YOU GUYS! I figured out what I want to do with my life!

About dang time, Jess. Didn’t you spend a boat load of money to go to grad school because you knew what you wanted to do with your life?

Yeah. Sort of. I mean, I knew I wanted to work in agriculture. And I knew I wanted to use sustainable farming to help people in some way. But the exact details of that plan had yet to surface, and when we had a lecture about how now is the time to be looking for and applying for post-graduation jobs, I was like, “Whaaaa? I don’t even know where to start!”

BUT THEN I FIGURED IT OUT.

I want to work in food security, which is less like being a bouncer outside of a McDonald’s and more like making sure people in vulnerable groups have access to quality food. And I found a couple of organizations that I’d really really really love to work with.

It’s so good to have direction in your life.

Mark Twain Quote

Also, I went on an adventure! I’ll post all about it another time, but I will say this: it involved a tunnel, World War II, and a mysterious Queen of Hearts.
