Newcastle 365: Week 10

Pie, pals, and a long-awaited trip to Scotland? Week 10 was a winner.

I hosted a pie night as an early Thanksgiving celebration, and we had a grand old time. I didn’t take this photo so this is kind of cheating, but I just love these girls so much that it needed to represent this day. I wish I had gotten a group photo with everyone who showed up, because it was an awesome night full of lots of fun and laughter. I am so grateful for all of the friends I have made here! (Left to right: me, Reena, Cansu, Mo, and Bing Bing, my flatmates.)

Take me to a castle with major historical significance, and what do I bring home as a souvenir? A pencil sharpener that doubles as a working catapult. I definitely had a little too much fun with this and some lentils…

I knew I would be doing a lot of baking to prepare for Pie Night, and instead of running the risk of singeing any of my precious pies, I made a handy chart to make sure I set the oven correctly. I didn’t want a repeat of that dastardly cookie episode.
