Mom Songs

It’s Mother’s Day week, and I’m celebrating with a playlist. There are thousands of songs about romance, but sometimes I need music to represent the other relationships in my life.

These ones are about Mom:

JJ Heller’s A Mother Like You. If you’re want to post something to your Mom’s Facebook wall this week, choose this.

Jonny Diaz’s Watch You Be a Mother. As the mother of young children, I can think of few words more romantic than these.

Meghan Trainor’s Mom. It’s catchy and fun. If you’ve never heard it, prepare yourself. You’ll want to dance.

Bethany Dillon’s You’re the Best Song. Soft, acoustic, Christian. Yes, yes, yes.

JJ Heller’s I Get to Be the One. On days when mothering feels heavy, this song helps me remember how blessed I am.

If you have a favorite Mom song, include it in the comments below! 🙂

Jenny is a star-gazing, book-clubbing mother of two. She has a Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies, which is mildly comical (but also a boon in parenting and relationships). Her kids will attest that she’s crazy about reading aloud, time out of doors, and creative play. Her family’s goal is the “abundant life,” as prescribed by Jesus. 1. All the feels, Jenn. All the feels. This makes me feel so much love for my mom, and really makes me ache for my turn to be a mom, too.
