Chocolate Chip Cookies

A Cautionary Tale

I was feeling particularly domestic the other day, and I decided to bake some cookies. I gathered the ingredients from the market (I shop at markets now! What what!), whipped up some batter, and popped them in the oven.

And exactly two minutes later, I started to smell something burning.

MY COOKIES!

I pulled them from the oven and discovered a dozen and half chocolate chip briquettes with uncooked centers.

What in the world had I done wrong?

And then it dawned on me: I live in England now. They use Celsius. So when a recipe by an American blogger says to preheat your oven to 325°, you have to do a little math.

Ugh. I hate math.

But I love cookies.
